Someone can curse you, but someone cannot sin you.

Under the law you're under a curse, under Grace you should not be under your parents curse

Once you become a child of God, no longer will the sins of your forefathers cause curses to transfer into your life: Jeremiah 31:29 -30, "In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge."

Jessie doesn't know the word of God. My son can sin but his sin will not come upon me. God is a just God. He would not punish me for my sons sins. What Jessie is talking about is bad habits. Yes, we can pass bad habits on to our kids. But our children can break those habits by choosing not the do them anymore. Jessie is giving his opinion which doesn't line up with the Word of God. The lady read him the scripture saying that the iniquities of the father does not pass on to the son (Ezekiel 18:20 ). Then Jessie looked like a deer in the headlights with drooling running out of his mouth. Also, we are under a New and better covenant in Christ Jesus. We must confess and repent of our own sins and the Blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse us of our sins. Struggling with anger does not mean that your mother's sins have come upon you. Anger is the work of the flesh. One must die to the flesh in order to be free from anger. The opposite of anger is peace. The opposite of fear is love. Behavior is taught, you're not born with it. 2 Corinthians 5:17 , "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

This is why I like Jesse Lee Peteson and BOND. Even on matters of Scripture, Jesse does not claim perfect knowledge above everyone else, and it's good that he doesn't because there is the occasional miscommunication in how he says things; but what he does know, he's dedicated to using it to help people truly open their hearts to be transformed by God and over the traumas and ills that bind them. His church is not one in which you can easily fake holiness by partaking in corporate rituals, he speaks directly to the members of his fellowship, and he can tell by people's actions who's interested in the truth and who isn't.

Jesse, I came in to see you a few weeks ago, I may be going to court and testifying against my mother......

The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation. Numbers 14:18

I was under the impression that after Jesus and his teachings, there was no longer sin. Only Hypocrisy. God loves you, brother, keep up the work.

This brother is not like the others. But he's different in a good way.

Exodus 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,[ and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. Lamentations 5:7, "Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne (been punished for) their iniquities."

when the father or mother sins he brings the curse on himself and to the family . now the enemy has been given power or authority to influence and oppress the family into sinning. and after sinning comes the curse.

The purpose of a generational curse
Author: Zolor
Christ was made a curse, so we can be freed from the curses that sin (both our sins and those of our forefathers) has brought us. Galatians 3:13 , "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:"

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 The Answer comes form Exodus 20:5 This the answer to the first lady Question,

The sins of the father and parents in general are the disadvantages (resources, environment, status etc.), mannerisms, genetic defects and demons. People can grow up with the issues from past family but also can restart in Christ and sometimes by ones own desire though in the later case one is not under Christ for redemption of sins even if they choose to go away from those things like quite smoking or being sexually immoral. Christ covers us with His Blood this is when we do not hold the curses of our own families but become freed as we come to His power so those issues from family will be defeated.

The price for generational curses has been paid!

See, the model that the average church has morphed into over the years where the pastor talks at everyone and the flock's voices are only useful for singing songs, saying Amen, and reciting verses when prompted, is not a model of God and has clearly been proven in today's age how prone to corruption it really is. In the days of Christ and the classic Christian ekklesia, everyone had something to contribute to the gatherings; the primary conductor, whether that be Christ, an apostle, etc., only used a podium when the visibility of the flock required it, and was more focused on directly helping the fellowship than on lecturing ceaselessly on a handpicked subject for 100 minutes. The only thing Jesse keeps is the podiums—and if I may guess as to why, it's probably because that's what he's used to and because he's recording the services as a product to share with everyone.

So why are there so many believers who seem to be living under a generational curse? This has puzzled me before I understood how it works too. What may need to be dealt with though, is any bondage that was already passed down to you before you came into covenant with God. The legal grounds are certainly paid for on the cross and therefore broken. The only thing left to do is cast out any spirits that have gained entrance before you accepted Jesus.

Sin is a illness that can damage health spiritual growth in the Lord

Yet so many people still believe you need to just run to whatever church is nearby that doesn't have Luciferan symbols around it, because even if the church is bad, the outside world is even worse. Truth is, when the church is becoming increasingly apostate, more and more like the world, yet still maintains its position of representing holiness, there is a fundamental screwing of things that doesn't happen on the outside. Evil inside the church—whether it's condoning sin, spreading lies, or unearned self-righteous anger—messes people up worse than the ills that take place outside, because that means what's supposed to be a safe haven for good instead becomes a safe space for evil.

The good news is that once you accept Jesus, the transference of bondage stops from your ancestors by means of generational curses. You can no longer receive spiritual bondages in this manner from your parents once you accept Jesus!

This man is no minister. He is the true definition of a self hating black man. He lies use double talk.

I believe the reason God would punish the future generations with the sins of their fathers, is because of God's bitter hatred for sin. He would require somebody who practiced witchcraft to be put to death (Exodus 22:18 ). He knows that one of the most prized possessions you have, is your children, and therefore it makes sin a lot harder to commit when you realize that you are not the only one that is being punished for it, but also your own children are going to pay the price for your foolishness. That's what I believe is the reason behind generational curses. The whole human race fell thanks to Adam's sin for that matter.

so technically the sins of the father aren't put on the son but the demons and their influnce and oppression are given to the children.

Most churches don't really focus on helping people through their ills, because they don't address people directly in open dialogue. They can throw Biblical verses out like candy from a popped pinata, but they can't explain things in human terms for everyday situations. So there's not really a great vetting system for who's in the average church to see if the people are legitimately getting cleaned up and changing their bad habits or if they're just going in and temporarily feeling holy until something happens after they get out. That's where you get things in church like corrupt businessmen serving as deacons; spouses trying to kill each other over petty issues or clean each other out in a nasty divorce settlement; children leaving the church as soon as they're grown because they were basically pulled in by angry parents whose hypocrisies they see continue going unaddressed.

Parenting is done by example and children pick up on it. So a single mother's promiscuous past can be picked up by the daughter. Or even the son can learn that abandoning women is okay if he never sees the father and his mother proclaims she doesn't need him.

It's a complete breach of trust. This is how the heart breaks. And this is one big way the Devil can win people and they don't even know it.

This is beyond learned behavior; many children learn to be messy if their parents are messy. This is a spiritual bondage that is passed down from one generation to another. Some symptoms of a generational curse is a continual negative pattern of something being handed down from generation to generation. Often people who are adopted end up with the same characteristics as their birth parents, not because they were around their birth parents to learn how they behaved, but because they inherited their spiritual bondage. Some common symptoms of generational curses are family illnesses that seem to just walk from one person down to the next (cancer is a common physical manifestation of a spiritual bondage), continual financial difficulties (they continually hit roadblocks in their finances), mental problems, persistent irrational fears and depression. Anything that seems to be a persistent struggle or problem that was handed down from one generation to another may very well be a generational curse.

Sins are all our own but a curse can follow a family. It takes self knowledge and a return to the virtuous principles to break it.
